Curled Up Shingles:  This may allow rain to get involved, and the shingles can be damaged by wind.

Worn-off Granules: Granules defend the shingle from daylight and water. If they’re distressed off, the shingle could deteriorate. Look for granules inside your gutters and by your own downspouts. You may see dark spots relating to the shingles where granules can be missing.

Loose Or Lost Shingles: This can result in leakage.

Cracked Shingles: A standard cause of a top leak. (Nail jumps, which are small gaps where nails have popped on the shingle, can cause leakage.)
